From the inception of the company, JRG Re has sought to attract individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit who are motivated to create a unique reinsurance organization. JRG Re endeavors to avoid bureaucracy and remains committed to maintaining operations that are lean, agile, and highly efficient. The reinsurance market is highly competitive and complex and the JRG Re employees challenge themselves daily to differentiate their company from the competition.

Tony Urban

Tony Urban is the Chief Executive Officer of JRG Re. Prior to the formation of JRG Re, Tony served as Executive Vice President, Chief Underwriter and Head of Reinsurance Operations for Endurance Reinsurance Corporation of America where he was responsible for 35 underwriters writing U.S. based working layer reinsurance. From 2000 to 2002, Tony was Executive Vice President and Chief underwriting Officer of AXA Corporate Solutions. Prior, Tony held various positions over a 14 year career at Constitution Reinsurance Corporation culminating as a Senior Vice President and Chief Production Officer.

Shane Haverstick

Shane Haverstick joined the team in January of 2008. As JRG Re's Chief Operating Officer, Shane is responsible for the for the management of claims, underwriting/actuarial support, human resources, and IT services. Most recently he served as the Global CIO for ACE Tempest Re and has previously held management positions at AIG and Merrill Lynch.

Shane has a B.S. in Finance from The College of New Jersey and holds a PMP Certification.

Bob Lawrenz

Bob Lawrenz is Chief Financial Officer of JRG Reinsurance Company. Bob is responsible for all financial operations of JRG Re including the establishment of a financial platform, financial reporting, maintaining effective relations with the Bermuda Monetary Authority, as well as establishing effective internal controls. Previously, he served for five years as Chief Financial Officer of the Virginia Farm Bureau group of companies which is comprised of several non-profit and for-profit companies, including three property and casualty companies writing mostly personal lines coverages. Prior to that, Bob was the Sr. Vice President of Finance at American Agricultural Insurance Company, a reinsurance company located in the Chicago area.

Bob is a CPA, has an Associate in Reinsurance designation, as well as an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
